A dip in the INKWELL March 02, 2003 Burnin' House of Love Ahh, home. Aside from the aggravation of Gateway sending me a package that doesn't belong to me for the second time, my car battery dying twice on two consecutive Saturdays, and the electricity being out from 1:00 a.m. last Saturday morning until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, I'm happy to be home. I got to see alligators when I was on vacation, and I found out that I like warm weather (and dislike cold weather) much more than my New England Yankee heart will allow me to admit. I like 80 degree heat in February. And I like Spanish moss, even if the missus doesn't. This winter is pushing me over the edge, but I know come September, I'll be looking forward to snow all over again. I watched the Saddam Hussein interview. What a piece of propaganda. First of all, I love the typical tabloid TV teaser crap: Dan Rather:"I asked Saddam whether he planned to use the scorched earth tactics of the first Gulf War. His answer when we return." (Was I the only one who felt the irony in seeing car commercials in between segments of this interview with our "enemy," who also happens to provide a significant amount of our crude oil?) Oh well, I'm still happy to be home. |
