A dip in the INKWELL January 03, 2003 Same S*, New Year So, here I am, back at work. I'm trying to keep busy and not goof off too much, but when you've got the resident office mother hen wandering around writing down everyone's b-day, it's tough to get motivated. Call me an old-fashioned grump, but I really do come here every day to work. Sure, I take breaks during the day, check my email, maybe make a phone call. But I treat them like what they are: breaks. Half these clowns act like getting cake and cards for people's birthday is what we're here to do. Feh. Just got a news flash from the receptionist. Thank you, but I can read CNN on line myself, if you don't mind. So, do I want to volunteer for the Dean campaign or the Kerry campaign? My regional loyalty and pragmatic sense leans towards Kerry. Plus I prefer senators as Presidential candidates to governors. But I really like Dean's focus on education and health care. And he seems like a realistic "dark horse." Kerry is almost too well known and stereotyped in the rest of the country as a classic Massachusetts liberal (which he is not). I've got some time to think it over. Happy New Year. |
